| Description | An in-depth presentation of the Biblical evidence that supports the view of temperance, explaining the usage and meaning of the Greek and Hebrew words. This work has been in constant demand even to this day. Now available in electronic format, the verses and references are even more accessible and useable than before. EditorialOur society has become over-run by the perversions of the day. One of the leading sins, and causes of sin is the use of wine, beer, and other alcoholic drinks. The Bible has always been very clear as to the position of the believer in such matters. Such verses clearly condemn its use: Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. To compound the confusion, the biggest institutions, that call themselves churches, force alcohol down the throats of those that attend their services. Furthermore, any social events are usually are centered around this snake, bringing horrible and devastating results: Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his color in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. It seems funny, but it is true, that not even the alcoholic translators of the King James Version were able to hide the fact that wine is condemned in the Bible. They tried to mix up all original words that stand for juice, fruit, wine, and grapes and make them all the same. Fortunately, there have been stalwart men like William Patton that have set the record straight. Although there are people in their high towers who want this book forgotten and buried, it keeps appearing, simply because it is a scholarly work on the subject. It is well-researched and documented. It examines the source words and their use in Scripture. It presents a clear and resounding conclusion that any humble child of God would reach from their own Bible Study. This work is very important to keep handy. This is why it is in the first shelf of the Goodly Heritage Library Series. |
